This is suitable for the advanced forum. It pretty much sums it all up.

WHY GRANDPA HAS A CONCEAL CARRY PERMIT AND CARRIES A GUN..... an excellent read!
Please take time to read this and pay particular attention
to "A Little Gun History" about half way down.
Why Carry a Gun?
My old grandpa said to me 'Son, there comes a time in
every man's life when he stops bustin' knuckles and starts bustin' caps and usually it's when he becomes too old to take a whoopin.'
I don't carry a gun to kill people.
I carry a gun to keep from being killed.
I don't carry a gun to scare people.
I carry a gun because sometimes this world can be a scary place.
I don't carry a gun be cause I'm paranoid.
I carry a gun because there are real threats in the world.
I don't carry a gun because I'm evil.
I carry a gun because I have lived long enough to see the
evil in the world.
I don't carry a gun because I hate the government.
I carry a gun because I understand the limitations of government.
I don't carry a gun because I'm angry.
I carry a gun so that I don't have to spend the rest of my
life hating myself for failing to be prepared.
I don't carry a gun because I'm a cowboy.
I carry a gun because, when I die and go to heaven, I want
to be a cowboy.
I don't carry a gun to make me feel like a man.
I carry a gun because men know how to take care of
themselves and the ones they love.
I don't carry a gun because I feel inadequate.
I carry a gun because unarmed and facing three armed thugs,
I am inadequate.
I don't carry a gun because I love it.
I carry a gun because I love life and the people who make
it meaningful to me.
Police protection is an oxymoron.
Free citizens must protect themselves.
Police do not protect you from crime, they usually just investigate the crime after it happens and then call someone in to clean up the mess.
Personally, I carry a gun because I'm too young to die or too old to take a whoopin'.....

You won't see this data on the U S evening news, or hear
politicians disseminating this information.
Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and
property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only
the law-abiding citizens.
Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!
The next time someone talks in favor of gun control,
please remind them of this history lesson.
With guns, we are 'citizens'. Without them, we are
'subjects'.
I'm a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment!

can we as citizens implement

can we as citizens implement gun control that is binding only on Congress....

Buy em while you can, and all the ammo you can. I may invest in a reloader just so i can have ammo when i cant find any anymore.

Good read Jeff, thanks for posting it.

IMO, guns are just another form of life insurance, except when this life insurance pays out i will still be alive.

If a gun control bill is

If a gun control bill is passed, you can believe that congressional affiliates would still be toting a gun or have armed guards that do. What does that say about gun control? It says that....Oh, law abiding citizens cannot carry (legally), but criminals can carry illegally…...which they already do and will never ever stop. Congress knows the facts and the statistics. "Gun control will not take guns off the street. It would only disarm the honest, making them direct targets."
Over 80% of convicted criminals had guns. In Virginia, less than 3% of law abiding citizens carry. Don't be so naive......people do get robbed on Main Street. And raped in their office. And shot in shopping malls. And killed in class. And assassinated in diners. A deadly threat can happen anywhere at any time.

I am always aware of my surroundings. I am always packing heat. I am consistently training fast draw, point and shoot DGU. I don't carry a nine; they are just too cute for me. If it does not say 357 or 45 I don't use it. My wife is very important to me and I would let nothing harm her. She feels very safe with me leaving a late night movie, walking across a car crowed parking lot.

I will keep my freedom, my guns and my money! You can keep the "Change".

If I fear for my life, I will protect it and my family. Hell, if they take away my right to carry a gun, I will make a hip carry holster for my crossbow and have a knife in my boot.

And yes.........guns don’t kill people. People kill people.

SHOOTING at games

I bet if people carried guns for protection, the fans at the football games would not be fightting for there lives after getting shot or beaten. If I was a criminal and thought someone had a gun I would leave them alone.

at least 1%

I figure at least 1% of the 3% that carry, in VA...........Live In Suffolk!
I have a range right in my back yard. All my neighbors have guns (all three of them) and you always see a 12 guage in the back window of a truck.

Suffolk is and has been in the top 100 cities to live in.......In the whole US of A. Look it up.
I Just Love Here! Would not live anywhere else in Hampton Roads.
